Signed & Numbered Print | Limited to 25 | Pigment Inks on Museum Grade kozo 110gsm  | 7¼” x 8⅓” Unframed

A Monarch will catch your eye across a field let alone when it’s flittering right in front of you.  I didn’t have the heart to let this butterfly know I was only there to look for rare and interesting birds, so I paused to watch a while and was able to record some video.

This print is a still I pulled from the video and I think works really well.  The monarch was very busy with these purple spear thistles.

Frances A Crane’s wildlife management area is not maintained as a hiking spot, but as a preserved wild meadow, and as such it’s pretty much tick city wherever you go, so be careful if you head there yourself.

Printed On

Moab kozo 110

This is made from mulberry bark fibers, called kozo paper, and it’s an absurdly ancient Japanese method of papermaking.  It really surprised me when I stumbled onto it in the sample pack from Moab, and after a few proofs I love it.

It has a distinct, but very subtle texture to it that I think makes it uniquely suited for a select few of my photographs.

It’s more delicate than a standard photo rag paper and prints will have a softer, muted contrast as well.

It’s acid free with no optical brighteners, making it an archival grade paper.
