About the Printworks
The Piccolo Dog Printworks Co. opened with a simple goal: To make delightful artifacts of friendship, adventure, and wonder. Printed things, like note cards, or limited edition print photography. Probably stickers at some point, because everyone loves stickers.
A note from the owner
Welcome to my shop! I’m tremendously grateful for your visit today.
As far as my career goes, or how I got here, I started as one of the most freelancer-y of freelance photojournalist for a local paper that doesn’t really exist anymore. I learned on film because I had to, because I’m that old. From there I’ve been able to do some pretty cool things. I’ve been to Haiti. I’ve photographed candidates for the U.S. Senate. I’ve even had a stormy voyage across the Gulf of Maine…charted as the crow flies…in the dead of night…on an antique boat that was barely worthy of a bathtub.
…that wasn’t a professional gig, but I got some great shots, and I survived!
But mostly my work has centered around weddings, travel magazines, and small businesses. (Pro-tip: get into food photography for your local restaurants).
I’m hopeful and excited for this new mile I find myself walking down and I think it’ll be a great yet humbling adventure. To be a maker of things that you and others will send to your friends and family is a humbling prospect indeed. How many words of encouragement will be sent on the cards printed by my shop? How dreams shared? How many jokes?
So again, thanks for stopping, and many happy travels.
